Professor Yu-hon, Lui, MH
President
Biography
Professor Yu-hon Lui MH is currently the President of Tung Wah College. He obtained his BBA (Hons) degree in General Business Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and MA (Distinction) and PhD degrees in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, UK. He also holds professional qualifications in accounting, banking, company secretary and securities of local and overseas professional bodies.
 
Professor Lui has substantial academic and professional experience in business administration and education. He started his career in banking and worked as the head of Treasury Department at a foreign financial institution before becoming an academic. Then he taught at various UGC-funded institutions for 12 years. He was the former Associate Head at the Department of Economics and Finance, City University of Hong Kong and the founding programme leaders of the first MSc. Finance and MSc. Banking programmes in Hong Kong. Before joining the College, Professor Lui was the Director of the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education at the Open University of Hong Kong for about 17 years.
 
Professor Lui’s research and professional interest includes accounting, banking, financial markets and institutions, investment and education. He has published a number of papers and books in these areas. In addition, he is often invited to give talks by private and public organizations in topics related to finance and education, and to serve on different committees/organizations (including Manpower Development Committee, Employees Retraining Board, Cantonese Opera Development Fund Advisory Committee, Advisory Committee on Arts Development and Bank of Communications Trustee Limited, etc.)
